My name is Sarah Fuentes and for 22 years I taught in the South Bronx public schools. I was born and raised in the Bronx so giving back to my community was a huge part of why I became a teacher.
I know I could not be who I am without all the amazing teachers who supported me. The first school I taught at was blocks away from the projects my mom grew up in. I didn’t know what I was doing, the first two years as a teacher are the hardest.
